Dr O’Neil has pioneered the use of opiate antagonists in Australia for opiate addiction and has concentrated his efforts on addiction and substance use disorder treatment utilising pharmacotherapy and allied health supports. Dr O’Neil founded Fresh Start in 1996 to provide the West Australian community with affordable and accessible addiction treatment. He has been developing new products for use in obstetrics, pain management, malnutrition, catheterization, drug delivery and addiction for over 30 years.
Dr Lawrance joined Fresh Start in 2006, and has also worked in the WA State Government Next Step Drug and Alcohol Services since 2012. She has a special interest in hepatitis C treatment and has extensive experience in GP and health professional education on addiction and hepatitis C. She is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Edith Cowan University, School of Medical and Health Sciences.
Dr Martyn holds fellowships in both Intensive Care and Anaesthesia which he has many years’ experience, as director of the intensive care units at Sydney, Royal Liverpool (UK) and Fremantle hospitals. Dr Martyn has an interest in blood management and has substantial experience teaching at local, national and international levels.
Dr Hee is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who joined the Fresh Start team in 2010. He has a passion for utilising science and technology to improve the scope and quality of patient friendly medical care.
Dr Collin joined Fresh Start in 2012. His experience in the fledging training programme for GPs before working in Zimbabwe from 1984 to 1987 and in rural and urban hospital and GP positions, led him to develop an interest in Echosclerotherapy and Addiction Medicine.
